Twilight Breaking Dawn Part Two hit theaters on Nov. 16. The film raked in a whopping $141,067,634 on opening weekend alone, a memorable end to the four book, five movie series.
As a male that has never seen any of the preceding movies or read any of the books I wasn’t exactly prepared to watch the last movie. But I still thought that the movie was interesting and had me on the edge of my seat.
The movie was cheesy and boring for the first twenty or thirty minutes, and I found myself falling asleep with my eyes open. It started with Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, waking up and seeing Edward. They then proceeded to make out, which was not fun to watch by my standards. It was just a bit uncomfortable.
Next the two vampires ran through the forest to meet Jacob (a werewolf) and Renesmee, the daughter of Bella and Edward. It turns out that Renesmee is aging at an unbelievable rate because one of her parents was human (Bella) and the other was a vampire (Edward).
As the movie progressed and the plot began making sense to me, the movie took a turn for the better. The news about Renesmee’s birth and special powers were found out by the Volturi, the vampire monarchy. The Volturi makes their way to kill Renesmee as she is a danger to leaking the secrets of vampires to the mortal world.
When Edward and Bella hear this news they assemble the other vampires around the world to be witnesses for Renesmee’s innocence and also fight if necessary.
Twilight is known for being a sappy chick flick and at times it was, but the action in the movie would please any guy watching. The Volturi meet the vampires and with the help of Jacob and his werewolves in an open field they decide Renesmee’s fate. The Volturi decide that Renesmee is a threat to the vampires and try to kill her.
Quickly, she hops on Jacob’s back and they run away. The Volturi and Vampires fight until the leader of the Volturi’s head is ripped off. The final fight scene was especially intense, and the twist at the end was unexpected but was the perfect way to cap off the thrilling series.
The acting in this movie was believable by the characters. Mackenzie Foy played Renesmee and was very convincing as an innocent young girl. The main characters Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were mediocre with their acting and at times very cheesy. Overall the side actors in the movie were good but no one seemed deserving of an award.
This movie would be perfect for a date with a girlfriend because both of you will find it interesting for different reasons. The movie has romantic aspects for the girl and intense action for the guy.
