I know it’s the official start of the holiday season when Bath and Body Works whips out their latest winter collection. Not only can I see the elaborate display in their store window, but I can smell it throughout the entire mall. But let me tell you- Bath and Body Works has stepped it up. Now, not only do they deck out for winter, but they also go through this entire process for fall. While some scents are a wonderful blessing, others, I fear, will never leave the shelf.
Generally, the scents that you may see in other stores, or have heard of before, are safe. The ones where you’re like “Wait seriously? They have this?” Stay away from! Some of the scents are carried in lotions, body sprays, hand soaps, and more, but all the scents came in candles. Therefore, candles were put to the test.
Test #1: Pumpkin Apple. A sweet, festive smelling crimson candle, Pumpkin Apple was definitely a high score. It does not overpower but is still definitely there. This would spice up the household in no time and could certainly be used often.
Test #2: Roasted Pumpkin Butter. Although slightly intense, Roasted Pumpkin Butter is definitely buyable. It would be great every once in a while, but don’t count on it being your go to for party hosting. The scent is strong and carries far throughout the store, tending to overpower many of the other scents.
Test #3: Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. Yes they do have this candle. Have you ever heard of a waffle scented candle? No. This is the first warning sign. By opening up the lid you will unmask a serious flavor. Possessing a sweetness to the point of disgusting, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles should definitely have the lid locked. Note: as should Cider Doughnut, Marshmallow, and Leaves.
Although some people say that Bath and Body Works goes to excess when trying to provide for the current season, I disagree. Even though not all of the scents where lovely, there’s the perfect candle out there for everyone.
