Coming off a season in which they gained a share of the conference title, girls varsity soccer tallied another victory when they took the pitch on Tuesday against Parkway North. kicked off their first game of district playoffs when they took the pitch Tuesday against Parkway North.
In previous action against North, the Colts had won 2-1, in a season marked by the girls first conference title in program history.
In playoff action against North Tuesday night, the Colts struct early. With only three minutes gone in the first half, sophomore Natalie Kesselring gave Central an early lead when she scored the game’s first goal, pushing the Colts to a 1-0 lead .
Quickly following Kesselring, junior Greer Hefner finished a feed from senior Molly Cagle to put the Colts ahead 2-0 with only ten minutes gone in the first half.
The team held on to that score for the rest of the first and the majority of the second half before Kesselring again found the net with twelve minutes left to play.
The Colts finished the game 3-0 versus North, and will play the district final at North against Pattonville on Thursday, with kickoff beginning at 6:30.
