The boys swim and dive team wanted to make a big splash this season. With a fast start to the season, things are looking good as conference and districts approach. With ten wins and only three losses, the boys are confident to make a deep run to state, and they have the swagger and they get that positive energy from each other which is what gives them the edge as they near the final stretch. The athletes themselves have very high expectations from their leaders through the program such as junior Hayden Christiansen.

“My expectations are to do well at the state as a team and hopefully place in the top three because we have the talent and the depth on our team to do so. I think one of the keys to our success is how close we all are, we all support each other and want to see each other do great instead of being more preoccupied with our own stats or times like other teams,” said Christiansen.

Senior diver Tyler Arthur has also seen the growth and strength of the community the swim team has built.

“The reason we have had a good season this year is mostly because the amount of effort that everyone has put in. Many swimmers pushed themselves this year to their limit. My favorite part is just the overall crazy actions of the team like the speedo run where we just ran around outside in our speedos for no real reason,” said Arthur.

After their meet last week’s meet at Pattonville the boys took first place and became Conference Champions.
