Ever thought of a simple and rewarding way to help the community? Then mark March 8 on your calendar to support Dance Marathon, which is a year-long fundraiser that helps children’s hospitals and kids with pediatric illnesses. Raising money and going to the event is a way to cast your support to charitable organizations.
Co-sponsor of Dance Marathon, Kristin Ream, understands the significance of everyone’s contributions to the cause, along with all the dedication and effort each individual has.
“Guiding them through the process, watching their determination grow, and celebrating their success was incredibly rewarding,” Ream said. “Seeing their hard work pay off and knowing we were all making a difference for such an important cause, made the event even more meaningful.”
Ream is proud of each student that commits to Dance Marathon and helps support kids each year, that will vastly impact the rest of their lives.
“One of my favorite memories of Dance Marathon was watching students interact with the Miracle Kids,” Ream said. “Seeing their faces light up with joy as they played games, danced, and shared special moments together.”
Sophomore Eden Raviv’s job is to help out with the miracle families and kids. Despite it being her first year with a big role, Raviv truly believes this is a great cause and happy to help contribute.
“It is so rewarding to see the people the money is actually going towards,” Raviv said. “To hear their stories is amazing and I loved hanging out with the kids, because that is what this is all about.”
Junior Sabeen Munir is also a part of helping the miracle kids and families, and was able to connect and spend time with one of them throughout the event, which was a unique experience.
“I was in charge of one of the miracle kids last year, which is how I got into exec,” Munir said. “It was such a fun experience and spending time with the kids and their families.”
Raviv found her place with Dance Marathon, as she is dedicated to helping a cause and changing so many kids’ lives each year.
“I fell in love with the program and love how it is so rewarding,” Raviv said. “Knowing that you are doing something good for others is truly amazing.”
Senior and co-executive director Mollie Goldberg is proud of all the hard work everyone puts in to make the event a success, and hopes that even when she graduates, this program will still thrive.
“I hope the tradition continues and becomes a bigger event,” Goldberg said. “It really helped me and is one of my favorite parts of high school and I hope others feel the same.”

Junior Serena Huang is involved with sponsorship and catering, but does so much more behind the scenes. She believes it is a great way to get involved with charitable causes and help support your community.
“People should go because it is a really valuable event to be at because you know you are doing something for a really good cause,” Huang said. “There’s food, fun activities, and hanging out with your friends.”
With all that being said, Ream hopes that others will see the importance in the program like she and so many others do, and wants everyone to come support an amazing cause.
“Dance Marathon fosters a sense of unity and personal accomplishments, as everyone rallies behind a shared mission of giving back,” Ream said. “Whether you love to dance, want to meet new people, or simply want to be a part of something bigger than yourself, Dance Marathon is a powerful and rewarding event you won’t want to miss!”
