Two weeks ago, students swapped their textbooks for tuxedos and graphing calculators for glamor. A Starry Night was this year’s theme for Prom and a starry night it was. From the music and dancing to the 360 camera and photobooth, to the crowned royalty, students made Prom 2025 a night to remember. This year’s Prom served as a collection of personal memories from everyone who attended, each one being as unique as the person who lived it.

Taking a dive into what students thought of the night personally, their thoughts vary somewhat. Senior Avant Stepney’s experience was enjoyable overall.

“I really liked the 360 camera, I thought that was cute. The food was ok, I liked the desserts, the dancing and music was good, it was just hot,” Stepney said. As for another senior, Greg Foote, he had an amusing night as well.
“I did like the freedom, like not having parents on your back, and I was able to make my own decisions for the whole night, [but] one thing I didn’t like was how they were serving drinks, but we only had like four options,” Foote said.

According to students who attended Prom last year, the menu was not up to par. The flavors were bland and dry so as the junior class officers are in charge of planning Prom, they took the initiative to create a better menu based on the opinions and reviews of the previous year.
“When we were sophomores, we remembered the junior and senior classes heavily complaining about dry chicken and how bad it was, and we had the option to switch it, and it also ended up being less money, so why wouldn’t we switch it up?” said junior Maddy Qian. The Prom menu consisted of hors d’oeuvres such as fresh fruit, a cheese tray with crackers, mozzarella sticks, mini beef kabobs, chicken tenders, and other finger foods. There was also a dessert bar with cheesecake, cookies, and brownies. Overall, the reviews were mostly positive, but some students thought otherwise. Senior Jessica Ahrens, for example, thought the menu was quite mid for the occasion.

“I don’t like how we had to pay so much for chicken tenders and finger foods at a formal dance,” Ahrens said. Given the fact that Qian mentioned that the catering would be cheaper, Jessica makes a good point, as the tickets were still the same price as years prior.

The night was full of laughs, big smiles, and great music. Beautiful memories were made and by the end of it all, many of the students had lots of anticipation built up for their plans after Prom ended.
