The donations from the second annual Parkway Central Pink Out were finally presented on Nov. 27. The $2,100 check was given to a representative of the Susan G. Komen foundation by the fall sport captains and representatives of other groups that participated in the breast cancer drive.
The idea began last year when LEAD sponsor Ms. Gina Caruso met with Ms. Teri Mullins to combine forces with the athletic department to add a Pink Out to Project Help’s Ribbon Drive to raise money for breast cancer.
Expectations were excelled this year as the groups were able to donate more money than in the past. This year was much more organized, as the athletic department was able to dedicate one week where all of the players would wear pink attire during their home games.
