Recently, three members of Central’s senior class received perfect scores of 36 on the ACT. Seniors Joshua Zeid, Melinda Lai, and Matthew Wallach all achieved a score of 36.
The ACT is a standardized test that helps colleges assess a students ability to succeed at the next level of education. The test scores students in the fields of English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. For each section, a score between 1-36 is given and then the four scores are averaged for a composite score.
“I looked at it and I just thought there was no way. I didn’t expect to receive a 36,” senior Josh Zeid said.
This is a rare feat accomplished by all three seniors. However, Zeid claims he does not feel all that different from other test takers.
“It’s really fun to say I received a 36, but it doesn’t feel all that different from others who received a 35,” Zeid said.
