UPDATE JAN. 9:
After receiving yet another round of snow, the Parkway School District is closed on Jan. 9. Students will now return to a C-Day on Friday, Jan. 10.
Also, the Girls Basketball games against Hazelwood West scheduled for Jan. 9 are canceled and have yet to be rescheduled. However, Girls Swimming will still participate in the Parkway Quad at Parkway North as originally scheduled.
UPDATE JAN. 8:
Assuming conditions do not deteriorate overnight, Central will return to a C-Day on Thursday, Jan. 9. Following the C-Day, there will be an A-Day on Friday and B-Day on Monday.
In addition, there are athletic events altered due to the weather conditions. The Girls Swimming meet against Mehlville has been canceled. Also, the Wrestling meet against Kirkwood and Seckman is canceled. Finally, the Boys Varsity and JV Basketball games against Francis Howell Central will not be played this evening.
While much of the Parkway District looks to return to school tomorrow, Shenandoah Elementary will not be in session. Due to a water main break that caused damage in classrooms, the gymnasium, and other areas, students at Shenandoah will not have school Jan. 9 or 10. Currently, Parkway has staff members and outside assistance helping with the cleaning process.
END OF UPDATE
Following a snow storm that brought approximately nine inches of snow to the metropolitan area, Parkway Schools will be closed for the third consecutive day on Jan. 8.
Currently, Parkway has not announced if any Inclement Weather Make-Up Days will need to be utilized.
The following sporting events have been rescheduled due to the inclement weather in the area:
-The Girls Basketball games against Hazelwood West for Freshmen, JV, and Varsity teams are rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 at Parkway Central.
-The Boys Basketball games against Francis Howell Central for Varsity and JV are rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 8. The Varsity team will play at 7 pm and JV team at 5:30 pm. The freshman game against Mehlville is canceled and has yet to be rescheduled.
