Following a drastic change in temperature overnight, the combination of snow and freezing rain led to the Parkway Schools closure on Jan. 21. This is the sixth snow day for the district this school year. The closing will require the district to make up an additional day that has not yet been determined.
While road crews are working around the clock to try and make the roads safe, all athletic events scheduled for this evening have been canceled. The Girls Swimming meet at Kirkwood High School has not yet been rescheduled. However, the Boys Basketball games at St. Charles have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 22. Also, the Girls Basketball games at home against St. Charles have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 5 for the Varsity and JV teams.
Assuming weather and road conditions do not deteriorate overnight, Central will return to an A-Day on Jan. 22.
