Winning against Webster Groves by the score of 25-20, 20-25, 25-12, the varsity volleyball team clinched a spot in the Final Four on Tuesday.
Despite their two game to one victory, the match was not an easy one for the Colts.
“Going into the matchup we knew Webster was going to be a real battle tester,” senior Matthew Walter said. “We knew they weren’t satisfied with getting second in their district pool so they were
going to be tough. They came out and played their best of the season and took us to three [games].”
Yet, despite the tough challenge provided by Webster, Walter is not at all concerned by his Colts performance.
“We took the third game from them in convincing fashion. When we are on, our top level is the best in our class; and we have the talent to win it all. It’s great getting top four in the state, but we are trying to win it all,” Walter said.
Their next match, the state semi-final, will take place on Thursday at Kirkwood, in which they will take on the Parkway North Vikings. The match begins at 6.
