Every October, kids from early preschool to sometimes the end of high school look forward to Halloween. It’s a night to be someone completely different than who you really are. You can dress up as your favorite superhero, princess, TV show character, movie character, animal, anything you want to be.
Trick or treating is every little kid’s favorite part of the holiday. Going from house to house, saying trick or treat and getting apillowcase full of candy by the end of the night. All upper elementary, all of middle school and even a few early high schoolers love to go out and pull Halloween pranks on people by toilet papering houses and trees, egging houses, dumping water on people’s heads and jumping out when you least expect it and scaring the pee right out of you. And finally, the rest of the teenagers in high school look forward to going to Halloween parties and playing games like bob for apples and participating in a costume contest.
However, Halloween does have a dark side. Candy isn’t the only thing that’s in demand at night. It’s also a great night for kidnappers to come out and steal kids that are walking alone. And since it’s so dark out and some adults do like to wear costumes, no one would find it suspicious and no one would really realize it until it’s too late.
