10/24 The Colts dropped both of their games this week, 8-0 against Marquette on Tuesday and 2-1 at Ladue on Thursday. Senior Ben Mendel scored the only goal in the two games against Ladue. Both opponents though are ranked in the St. Louis area, Marquette (#1) and Ladue (#7). Going into the final week of the season before districts on November 5, the Colts have an 8-11-1 record. There will be four games in the upcoming days, Friday against Hickman, Blue Springs South on Saturday, senior night versus Affton on Monday, and at Seckman on Tuesday.

10/17 Boys varsity soccer lost on Tuesday to Rockwood Summit 1-0. The next day, the team played Troy and won 1-0 in penalty kicks. Goals were scored by sophomores Noah Whalen and Josh Konecek in penalty kicks. The team plays against Marquette next Tuesday at home, and Ladue on Thursday.

10/10 The Colts tied 1-1 against John Burroughs today. The only goal was scored by junior Luca Vezin on a free kick outside the box. The Colts are 5-6-1 on the season, and look to improve when they host Rockwood Summit on Tuesday for their annual pink out game in support for breast cancer awareness. Wear pink and come support the Colts with action starting at 6.

10/3 Facing conference rival Parkway North yesterday, the Colt’s won 4-0 bringing their record to 5-6. It was Dean Trail’s second shutout of the season and the team’s fourth. The team plays in the St. Louis Gateway Classic tournament in Columbia, Illinois this weekend with play starting Friday night. They starts off the tournament against Mt. Carmel from Chicago.

9/26 The Colts placed third in a weekend tournament at Parkway West with a win over Jackson on Friday 2-0, and split Saturday’s games by winning against Lafayette 1-0 and falling to Francis Howell 1-2. On Tuesday, the Colts took on University City and won 10-0 after the mercy rule was called. Senior Jonathan Hwang got the golden boot of the game with one goal and four assists. On Wednesday, the Colts traveled to Parkway West to take on the Longhorns who came into the contest with an 8-3 record. Central started the scoring early with a goal from senior Ben Mendel, but West quickly tied the game up. Mendel countered with his second goal right before the half, but West tied it again in the second half, which sent the game to overtime. In the second overtime, sophomore Tyler Kendrick scored on pass from junior Luca Vezin which ended the game 3-2 in favor of the Colts. Now holding a 4-6 record, the soccer team will host Parkway North next Wednesday.

9/19 Facing top ranked Vianney on the September 17 the boys lost 3-0 leading to their 5th straight loss to begin the season. This was the 3rd straight game the boys have been shutout, beginning the season being beaten by opponents a combined 14-3.

The Parkway Tournament starts tomorrow with the boys first game against Jackson at 4:30 at Parkway North. The tournament continues on Saturday with a game at 10 in the morning against Lafayette and another game at 2 against Francis Howell. One problem in the early morning game will be the seniors and juniors who cannot play while taking the ACT.

9/12 The Colts fell  to Webster Groves with a score 1-0 on Wednesday. Today they traveled to Kirkwood and were defeated 5-0 . The boys drop to 0-4 on the season and will be looking for their first victory when they go head to head with Vianney on Tuesday.

9/5 A year removed from the winningest team in Central history, the boys soccer team kicked off their 2013-2014 campaign Wednesday at Parkway South (0-1). The Colts faced an early deficit after allowing a goal in the first minute and another 20 minutes later. Before the end of the half, senior Nick Helmbacher scored off of a throw in that deflected off a Parkway South player. Although the Colts had chances to score, the game ended with a 2-1 score. Junior, Dean Trail played the whole game in goal for the Colts. The next game is Friday at Priory (1-1).
