Last night Central Soccer extended their win streak to three straight games. The team begins the season 3-0 with a conference win last night over Webster Groves.
“It was our first conference match so it was pretty important to get of to a good start. They were a lot stronger then other teams we have played so far” Ben Gross, senior captain, said.
The game went into overtime tied at a deadlock of 0-0. When a winner could not be determined in extra time, the game went into the first penalty kick’s of the season. Evan Willenbrink ended up putting the team ahead for the victory.
“This was one of coolest games I’ve been apart of. Webster Groves is one of our biggest rivals so this is a crucial win and gets us going towards a run at winning conference” Gross said.
The soccer team will be back in action tonight at 6:00 p.m. against Kirkwood High School.
