Was the recruiting process what you expected?

A: I didn’t really expect anything.  I didn’t know what the process was going to be like, but it was really lengthy and quite tiring.  I had to email coaches and then as of July 1st, I was actually on vacation, coaches started calling.  I actually had to take a little time out of vacation to call back the coaches and talk with them.  One thing that came out of it was I got more used to talking to people over the phone.  I talked with them pretty much once a week.  It was actually quite enjoyable, I enjoyed listening to the coaches.  They all gave it their best to convince me (about the University).

Where did you narrow your choices down to?

A:  I ended up going on four official visits: Ohio State, Louisville, NC State (North Carolina State) and Minnesota.  It really came down to what I like about the team and I got a really good vibe from Minnesota.  I really clicked with the team and started getting some messages from the team members.

Once you reach the college level, how will your goals change?

A: I think the new setting that is not Parkway Swim Club will be awesome.  A fresh start with where I can start meeting faster times in the pool.
