In an important match-up against Parkway West, the boys varsity basketball team came out on top with a
52-37 win that keeps them tied for first in the Suburban South Conference.
“This win puts us in a good position to win a conference championship,” junior Kyle Disch said.
This win against West keeps Central atop the standings with Webster Groves in the Suburban South conference. They hold the tiebreaker between Webster Groves because of their road win against the Statesmen.
The team started the game with a 7 to 1 lead and held the lead for the rest of the game.
For the last quarter the Colts were trying to burn clock while up by twenty points but Parkway West put on pressure and brought their lead down to fourteen. The Colts countered with good movement of the basketball and held off the Longhorns for the victory.
The team will travel to Seckman next Tuesday for the final away conference matchup.
