After jumping on top during the first minute of play, Barat Academy managed to score twenty more times to defeat the Colts 21-1.
Although the final score was rather lopsided, junior Cecilia Tarlas noticed certain aspects of the Colts’ game play that improved.
“There were things that we work on in practice that were showing. We had good passes and it was good to see us pick up some of the balls on the ground” Tarlas said. “The other teams have a lot more experience. We need to make up for that with our effort.”
Freshman Laura Maniet scored Centrals only goal with under four minutes remaining in the game.
According the Tarlas, the upperclassman are responsible for leading many practices to help the younger players learn more about the game.
“We show the [less experienced players] how to do the drills. When they need help they ask us” Tarlas said. “Sometimes we even split up the team so that some of the players with more experience work with those who have less experience.”
