After missing the previous ten days to a shin splints injury, junior Jacob Kanter showed no signs of pain as he cruised through last week’s victory over Webster Groves. He was able to dominate his singles match 6-0 and 6-2. At the beginning of the season, Kanter was noted as one of the team’s key players to watch this season. He is one of the team’s primary players, and looks to improve on last year’s finish.
“Individually, I would like to place at least sixth at state this year. Last year, I was knocked out of the semifinals of the back-draw, which is one away frorm placing as a sophomore,” Kanter said.
Not only was Kanter able to succeed in Wednesday, April 17 match against Webster Groves, but the entire team seems to be together as they swept the Statesmen 9-0. This gave the Colt’s their third sweep of the season, and an 18 match win streak. The team is They look to carry their hot streak into their final three matches before districts.
