After starting the season off slow with a 1-4 record, Parkway Central’s girl’s varsity soccer team is riding an eight game win streak. The team has not lost a game since April fifth, outscoring their opponents 22-5 during their streak. Their most recent wins came against conference rival Parkway North and Seckman.
Coming off of double overtime and penalty kicks victories against Clayton and Kirkwood, the Colt’s next game was against the Parkway North Vikings. The game was scoreless after the first half, until Senior Taylor German was able to put one in the back of the net. The Colt’s went on to win 3-0, as Senior Alyssa Waitz was able to score followed by another goal by German. After every game, win or loss, Coach Theobald and Meyer hand out a game ball to who they believe was the “star” player of the game. Following the Parkway North game, the two coaches awarded German with the game ball.
“I was excited because I was rewarded for all the hard work I put into that game,” said German. “It means more to come through for the rest of my teammates.”
