At the end of the regular season, the boys varsity golf team placed third in the conference with a 7-2 record.  In addition, junior Jason Sobelman was named to the Second Team All Suburban South Conference squad.

Following districts, the team had five players qualify for sectionals, which included: juniors Jason Sobelman and Alex Yao, and seniors Ben Gross, Jordan Nathanson, and Zach Prelutsky.

“The fact we were able to advance all five golfers out of districts was huge for the team.  The week before, we had a poor performance at the conference tournament, but the fact that we were able to bounce back was great,” Sobelman said.

Sobelman took his game a step further as he was the only player from Central to qualify for the State Championship from sectionals . He shot a score of 80 at Sectionals, and was one of the last players in Class 4 Sectional 2 to qualify for State.

“While I wish there was another team member going with me, I could not be more excited to advance to the State Tournament. This has been my top goal throughout my high school golf career and it means a lot to me that I was able to accomplish it this season,” Sobelman said.
