After jumping out to 30-18 halftime lead, the boys basketball team held on to defeat the De Smet Spartans 56-38 in district semifinal action Tuesday night.
Junior Jarett Cox-Bradley led all scorers with 18 points and senior Nathan Biggs added 14 for the Colts who improved their record to 17-8 on the season. Despite a strong first half for the Colts, the Spartans rallied to cut the lead to 38-33 after the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter though the Colts outscored the Spartans by 13 points to take the win and advance to the district final.
The Colts will take on the CBC Cadets Friday at 7:15 at Parkway North.The Cadets defeated the host Vikings 78-49 on Tuesday and are led by Texas commit, senior Jordan Barnett, who averages 19.8 points per game. This will be a rematch of last year’s district semifinal where the Cadets eliminated the Colts.
