Senior Zach Biggs has made his name known in Central history with his amazing athletic performance over the four years at central. His 6’ 7” stature has made him one of the most dominating athletes to come through Central. He’s been a three sport varsity athlete for three of his four years, receiving numerous awards during his time. He had all-state his junior and senior year as a swimmer, winning the 200 medley relay this year and setting the school record as the freestyle leg. He participated in the back to back third place finishes at state his junior and senior year.
His basketball resume has been filled with accomplishments as well. He’s led his team to the district semifinals his three years as a varsity player. One of his most prestigious accomplishments came during his senior year, when he scored his 1000th point against Seckman. “It was a pleasure to coach him. Biggs was a player that led by example. He had a passion he brought to practice and games daily, and was determined to make himself, as well as his teammates, better,” said Coach Todd Pannett.
His final sport is volleyball, where he has been a starting varsity player for the past four year. He has led the volleyball team to the quarterfinals in state last year. “It was definitely a cool feeling knowing we were going to state, and it gave us confidence because we were playing our best volleyball.” Biggs’ success has granted him the title of Scholar Athlete of the year.
Not only is Biggs an extraordinary three sport athlete, but he constantly gets himself involved in other school organizations. He participated in Lead, Senior Men, High School Heroes, and Special Olympics.
