Battling Depression

Jay Walton, Staff Writer

Depression is something that a lot of people deal with. I was one of those people. Depression is a feelings of severe despondency and dejection. When people are looking from the outside of your life it’s hard to see if your someone who doesn’t talk about your feelings, but just because others can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there i would know. Sometimes the ones around you see all the good things in your life, material things, and just think your ungrateful when in reality there are a million things running through your head.
Talking to your loved ones or close family is sometimes hard, talking to a stranger is easier because they don’t know you to judge you. I overcame my demons and depressions by writing and every now and then opening up to people which can be hard it’s easier said than done , but it’s possible. Always think positively, be headstrong, sometimes being solo is better than being around people who bring you down, remember nobody will have your back better than yourself. Always have faith that things will get better because they will. If I got through it so can anyone, no matter how hard or long it take.
