Yesterday’s district game against Parkway West ended an exciting season for the boys soccer team on West’s game winning goal in overtime.
It was a close game from start to finish, and Parkway West ended up on top. A team effort on both sides of the ball, both teams fought with intensity and made the game close down to the wire.
“It was just a battle throughout the whole game and we both came to play,” said sophomore Zach Goldberg.
The boys had a successful season, with a record of 17-6-2, and they grew close over the course of the season.
“It was one of the most fun, best teams I have ever played for,” said Goldberg. “The seniors were amazing.”
The team’s seven seniors set an example for the younger boys and carried the team throughout the fall. It was tough for many of them to leave the field on Tuesday, knowing they had played their last game in a Parkway Central uniform.
“It’s hard to think about how the season is over and I’m not going to be with the same guys everyday,” said senior Luca Vezin. “This year was really special.”
