1/31 In a dual meet at Webster Groves on Friday night, the girls swim and dive team defeated Webster. On Thursday night, the team fell to Marquette in a dual meet, but the 200 free relay qualified for state. The next meet is Tuesday, February 4 at Central.
1/29 Swimming at University City Tuesday night, the girls swim and dive team raced in a dual meet against U-City. The team placed ahead of University City, who was composed of four swimmers. Diving was not included in the meet. Looking forward, the swim and dive team competes Thursday at Marquette and Friday at Webster University.
1/27 The swim and dive team traveled to Cape Girardeau this weekend. The team placed first overall out of eighteen teams. In addition, divers Jamie Goldberg and Hannah Swyers tied for first while Caroline Fenton and Jessie Piles both placed in the top 16. Individual, Courtney Nall stood out for the swimmers by placing first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 Free.
1/18 The Swimming Lady Colts tied for 6th place with Parkway South at the Parkway South Invitational today. Sophomore Jamie Goldberg placed 2nd in diving, senior Hannah Swyers placed 3rd in diving, and junior Caroline Fenton placed 9th in diving. Freshman Madison Brown placed 1st in the 100 meter backstroke and 4th in the 100 meter butterfly. Freshman Annika Hofer placed 5th in the 100 meter breaststroke and senior Courtney Nall placed 4th in the 50 meter freestyle. The 400 meter freestyle relay placed 7th, but the ladies dropped two seconds bringing them within one second of the state cut. As well, the 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay both placed 6th overall. The 200 freestyle relay dropped half a second from prelims.
1/17 In the prelims of the Parkway South Invitational the girls advanced the medley relay consisting of seniors Elaine Reichert, and Courtney Nall and freshman Madison Brown and Annika Hofer. In individual events Courtney Nall swam 2nd in the 50 free and Madison Brown went 2nd in the 100 fly and 1st in the second heat of the 100 backstroke. These and other swimmers will compete on Saturday in the championship along with the divers.
12/24 No meets have happened over the break for the swim team, but they will be practicing every morning except for Christmas and New Year’s day. The Marquette Relays which were originally scheduled to take place on December 14, were moved to January 4 due to inclement weather. So far the girls hold a 2-0 record on the season
12/17 The Colts defeated Clayton High School by 30 points yesterday at home. Sophomore Jamie Goldberg, Senior Courtney Nall, and the Medley Relay would have qualified for state if the MSHSAA official had shown up. Their next meet is after winter break
